I’m Lisa: a self-professed travel addict living the expat life in Barcelona by way of Delaware, Washington DC, the Big Apple and San Francisco. For fun, our family likes to go places … all the places. Discovering the hole-in-wall burger joint in Barcelona is just as fun as eating our way through every arancini shop in Sicily.
When I think about why I like to travel so much, it’s not for a perfect photo or the sublime pastry. It’s for the culmination of experiences … knowing what makes us happy and threading those little bits of joy through to our next beautiful, chaotic, occasionally disastrous and mostly vibrant family adventure.
Ultimately, this blog is for people who like to wander the world like we do. Planned, but not overly so. Prioritizing outdoor adventure, but not so much to break the kids. Spending money on a dreamy hotel, but the next day sleeping in a tent. Consuming loads of “the best” gelato, but not obsessing over reviews.
I know I’m lucky to get to see the world. No matter where you wander from, I want to share what I’ve learned. These pages are full of recommendations based on our experience, but promise, not too many. No matter where you are coming from, the joy is your own discovery. I’m just here to help you shortcut.
